A great white pelican soars over Walvis Bay. The bay is home to a multitude of sea birds, flamingos, Cape fur seals, dolphins and whales. Thousands of migratory birds visit Walvis Bay, considered to be the most important coastal wetland in southern Africa and designated a Ramsar site in 1995.
