Named Mosi-oa-Tunya – the smoke that thunders – by the locals, Victoria Falls was renamed for the British queen by the Scottish explorer David Livingstone. Both names are now recognized by the World Heritage List. Straddling the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, Victoria Falls is known as the world’s largest waterfall.
